Fact Number 1: There is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today than at any point in the last 800,000 years. Facts Number 2: In total, the U.S. emits approximately 6 billion tons of carbon dioxide every year. 40% of that comes from power plant emissions alone. Fact Number 3: Since 1870, global sea levels have risen by about Fact Number 4:Heat waves caused by global warming present greater risk of heat-related illness and death, most frequently among patients of diabetes who are elderly or very young. Fact Number 5: The earth’s temperature has increased by 0.8 degrees Celsius over the past century. More than half of this increase has happened in the last 25 years.
Fact Number 6: According to IPCC 2007 report, sea levels will rise by 7-23 inches by the end of this century due to global warming. Fact Number 7:The Arctic ice is melting rapidly. By 2040 the the region is expected to have a completely ice free summer, or even earlier. Fact Number 8:The Montana Glacier National Park has only 25 glaciers instead of 150 that were there in the year 1910. Fact Number 9: 9. Global warming is causing the colder areas of the world to become more hot , thereby becoming more vulnerable to diseases . Fact Number 10: 10. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about thirty percent thanks for watching this show.
